Canada’s electricity sector is experiencing significant growth and transformation. As Canadians electrify their homes and vehicles, integrate renewable energy technologies into the grid and embrace the impact of digital technology, it is crucial to bring together employers, unions, post-secondary institutions and policymakers to address the labour challenges confronting the sector.
Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) is working with its partners to build a world-class, safety-focused, innovative and inclusive electricity workforce. A key element of our work is translating program delivery into useful resources, products, tools and campaigns that stakeholders can access and apply.
The Marketing and Communications Project Officer is responsible for producing the communications products, marketing tactics and resource development required to deliver EHRC’s program outcomes. This role is delivery-oriented and responsible for turning program outputs into polished, audience-ready assets and campaign materials.
Responsibilities
- Produce the communications and marketing outputs required to launch and sustain EHRC programs across digital and print channels (webpages, emails, partner toolkits, one-pagers, resource summaries, promotional collateral).

- Serve as first-draft owner for program announcements (tools, resources, products, reports) and coordinate editorial review by the Communications Officer for narrative and voice consistency.
- Lead the production pipeline for program deliverables by maintaining timelines, dependencies and asset needs, and feeding required dates into the master editorial calendar.
- Edit and QA program materials (publications, resources, presentations, marketing collateral and digital assets) for accuracy, clarity, accessibility and brand alignment prior to release.
- Conduct interviews with internal and external stakeholders and convert insights into usable program content and assets.
- Coordinate program-scope vendors (design, translation, content production) to deliver assets on time and to standard, in alignment with Manager vendor governance where applicable.
- Plan and execute paid promotion for program deliverables and launches within Manager governance and with Communications Officer editorial review.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Events Officer to ensure program deliverables are reflected in event materials and follow-up when programs are promoted through events.
- Support publishing of program content as a program content owner across web, email and social, following channel standards and cadence set by the Communications Officer and Manager.
- Monitor and report on program campaign performance and audience engagement, contributing results on a regular and project-based basis.
- Represent EHRC at industry events and support on-site logistics.
- Perform other related duties as required.
