Know the Line: Understanding Workplace Harassment, Violence and Discrimination in Ontario

About this webinar
Creating safe, respectful and inclusive workplaces starts with a clear understanding of the legal standard that govern workplace conduct. Employers and leader are increasingly expected to recognize, prevent and respond appropriately to workplace harassment, violence and discrimination—but many still have questions about where the legal lines are drawn and what their responsibilities look like in practice.
This practical, jurisdiction-specific webinar provides an overview of the legal frameworks governing workplace harassment, violence and discrimination in Ontario, with a focus on helping employers, leaders and workplace professionals recognize concerning behaviours and respond with confidence. Participants will explore legal frameworks, key concepts and definitions, understand how obligations differ across jurisdictions and gain practical guidance they can apply in real workplace situations.
This webinar is part of EHRC’s Know the Line national legal information webinar series, which delivers province‑ and territory‑specific guidance on workplace harassment, violence and discrimination across Canada. Delivered in partnership with the team at Norton Rose Fullbright LLP, each session is tailored to the relevant legal framework in a specific jurisdiction, helping employers understand how legislative requirements, definitions and employer obligations vary from one province or territory to another. Ontario and Quebec are featured first in this series, with additional sessions covering other provinces and territories to follow throughout the year.
This event will be presented in English.
Live captions will be available in additional languages to support broader accessibility.
