EHRC’s Awards of Excellence connects, convenes, and inspires the electricity industry across Canada. This signature event recognizes and celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of employees, leaders and teams who are making a positive and tangible impact on their organization while contributing to the composition of a highly skilled workforce in the electricity industry.

This session is an insightful and invigorating exploration of Indigenous community capacities to transition to renewable energy solutions. It marks the release of EHRC’s Indigenous Labour Market Intelligence (LMI) and presents the research undertaken with Indigenous communities to understand the path toward cleaner, more sustainable energy generation.

It also discusses youth education initiatives that are interconnected with the overarching project, including an up-close and hands-on interaction with The Great Canadian Electricity Map.

  • What measures for accessibility and inclusivity are available?

    EHRC is committed to making the Awards of Excellence accessible and inclusive for all attendees, speakers, and panellists.

    Vantage Venues is an AODA-compliant space, equipped with barrier-free entrances, an elevator system providing visual and audible cues, accessible washrooms, and a welcoming approach to service animals. In the meeting rooms, window coverings are fully adjustable, and on-site staff can provide any specialized furniture or visual and audio aids that may be required.

  • What is the best way to get to the venue?

    Vantage Venues is ideally located for those using public transportation, though several parking options are available near the venue. Often, travelling by public transit is the quickest and most cost-effective way to navigate the city centre.

    Subway & Streetcar

    The venue is directly above the St. Andrew subway station at University Ave. and King St. This station is convenient for those arriving by subway on the Young-University Line or the east-west 504 King Street streetcar. For more information, view the TTC routes.

    GO Transit

    The venue is a five-minute walk from Union Station, which is serviced by GO Transit. For more information, view the GO Transit schedules.

    Walking

    Vantage Venues is within three short city blocks of seven major downtown hotels, including the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. The venue is also connected to the PATH, Toronto’s underground walkway linking all major buildings in the downtown core.

    Driving

    Drivers should exit the Gardiner Expressway at Yonge/Bay/York (eastbound) or Jarvis (westbound) while the York Street exit is closed. See the map in the “Parking” section for location details.

  • What parking options are available?

    Several paid parking lots are available close to the venue.

    P1 – 150 King St. W
    Enter from Pearl St. off York St. or University Ave.

    P2 – 48 York St.
    Enter from the left lane off York St. (one-way northbound).

    P3 – 1 University Ave.
    Enter from the right lane of University Ave. (southbound) at Front St. Take the lane under the “Front St./Eastbound” sign and look for the down ramp to the left. After entering, drive to the far end (north) and go to the upper level before parking. The staircase entrance to King St. will bring you to street level across King St. from the Sun Life Tower.

    P4 – 214 Adelaide St. W
    Enter from the right lane off Adelaide St. (one-way eastbound). There is an aboveground parking garage on the south side of Adelaide between John St. and Simcoe St.

    P5 – 177 Wellington St. W
    Enter off Wellington St. (one-way westbound) under Roy Thomson Hall. This is the underground parking for Roy Thomson Hall just west of Simcoe St. off Wellington St. After parking, walk through the Roy Thomson Hall box office onto King St. and follow the signs to the St. Andrew’s subway.

    P6 – 200 University Ave.
    The neighbouring building at 200 King St. W has one level of pay-and-display parking. Vantage Venues are located across University Ave. at the 150 King St. W tower. Space may be limited if arriving after 8 a.m. From the right lane of University Ave. southbound, turn right onto Pearl St.
