About the award

The Agent of Change Award recognizes and celebrates exemplary leadership in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion.

This award is presented annually to someone in Canada’s electricity sector who consistently demonstrates commitment, passion and impact in the workplace. They are role models who inspire those around them and lead others by their actions while advocating for change.

Nomination and eligibility criteria

Nomination Criteria

Nominations are received online and evaluated by EHRC’s Selection Committee. The Committee will determine the recipient based on their commitment and efforts to advance the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

The nominee demonstrates:

  • Exceptional leadership or advocacy in championing diversity, equity and inclusion within their organization.
  • A commitment to creating a culture of inclusion within their areas of influence and models respect or inclusive treatment when interacting with others.
  • Implementation of an initiative, project or program that cultivates, advances or models diversity, equity and inclusion within the electricity industry.
  • Key actions and interventions to remove barriers and improve the working experience and engagement within the electricity community.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The nominee must be an individual employed in Canada by an organization whose head office or principal place of business is in Canada.
  • The nominator may be anyone active within the nominee’s organization or Canada’s electricity sector at large.
  • Nominations are accepted for private and public sector employers of any size.
  • The nominee must be present to accept the award at EHRC’s Agents of Change in Montreal, QC, on May 13, 2026.
