I’m the supervising engineer of the hvdc

and fax team here at Adco I supervise a

team of Engineers to look after the

operations and maintenance of electrical

infrastructure here

you turn on a light switch and you know

the light is going to turn on behind the

scenes there’s a lot of people working

every day to make sure when you turn on

that switch that power is going to be

there

I’m providing a service to people and

ensuring that something that’s critical

to their lives is there for them every

day I’m part of that equation to give

people what they need when they need it

key part of being in this job is problem

solving and it doesn’t have to be always

mathematical or scientific I think being

flexible and adaptable and being able to

solve problems while keeping the goal in

mind is what’s really important

technology is evolving very rapidly as

we speak and things are getting adopted

to the grid that I would say 20 30 years

ago people wouldn’t have dreamed of it’s

an exciting industry to be in right now
