my name is Wayne Oliver and I’m the

western Canada Regional supervisor over

transalta’s wind assets

what I mostly do is I make sure that I

have adequate Manpower and then I make

sure they safely do their jobs

I think a good manager should get out in

the field and see what’s going on well I

try to get out into the field at least a

couple of times a month try to climb

turbines so that I know what’s going on

what the challenges are that my crew are

facing

I love that I’m in renewable energy

that’s a thrill

we can offset the combustion of

hydrocarbons by capturing winds and

turning it into electricity I just think

that’s cool

I think if someone goes into wind energy

they’ll have a long exciting career
