my name is Chantel Charles and I’m a

load research engineer and I work at

Manitoba

Hydro my job’s pretty exciting actually

we work with a lot of data we bring in

data from those meters and we create

load shapes or electricity profiles so

that tells us how our customers are

using their electricity on a daily basis

weekly monthly and annual

basis I didn’t see a lot of people like

me when I was in high school I loved

Math and Science and I was strong in

those areas and I wanted a career that

offered a lot of different paths or

possibilities so now I want to be a role

model for female indigenous Engineers

who just love math and science and

problem solving it’s such an important

piece to have in our teams to have that

voice it took me a while to find my own

voice in my career that voice is really

important in our
