Position Summary

Canada’s electricity sector is in an era of growth and change. As Canadians electrify their homes and vehicles, as renewable energy technologies are integrated into the grid and as digital technology impacts work, there has never been a more important time to convene employers, unions, post-secondary institutions and policy makers to solve for the challenges facing the sector. Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) is working with partners building a world class electricity workforce – one that is safety-focused, innovative and inclusive. One element of this work will involve the recruitment and retention of more skilled trades people in Canada. That’s where this role comes in.

EHRC is seeking a Project Manager to manage all elements of a federally-funded project to improve apprentice retention in the electricity industry. Further, this individual will be responsible for managing programs focussed on competency transfer and development as well. Working in collaboration with a small team, the successful candidate will support various stakeholders to build out programming and innovative solutions to improve apprenticeship retention in Canada’s electricity sector.

Reporting to the Program Manager of Careers and Education, the Project Manager is responsible for successfully delivering the project.
