SUMMARY:Beyond the Firsts: What Real Gender Equity Looks Like in the Electricity Sector
DESCRIPTION:International Women’s Day 2026 Panel Discussion\nInternational Women’s Day (March 8) often highlights milestones: the “first woman\,” increased representation and other visible wins. These moments matter\, but they are not the same as equity. \nThis 1‑hour virtual panel moves the conversation beyond optics to examine what actually shapes women’s experiences in the electricity sector. The goal is not inspiration alone\, but clarity about what needs to shift — and who is responsible for making it happen. \nPanellists\n\nRebecca Caron\, President\, Society of United Professionals\nJoanna Osawe\, President & CEO\, Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE)\nLenore Robson\, VP\, People\, Culture & Strategic Policy\, Ontario Energy Board\nMichelle Branigan\, CEO\, EHRC\n\nWho should attend?\nThis session is designed for employers\, HR and DEI professionals\, union representatives\, supervisors\, sector leaders and anyone working to advance gender equity in electricity—whether at the frontline\, in technical roles or in organizational decision-making. \nThis session is especially relevant for organizations aiming to move beyond representation and toward measurable\, sustainable equity. \nWebinar details\n\nThis event will be presented in English only. Live captions will be available in additional languages to support broader accessibility.\nCan’t attend live?
